SNOW DAY!!!

Yes! That's right folks; you heard correct... It's a SNOW DAY at PLU!!! We got dumped on overnight and it is beautiful!
After Ignite last night we had people over for a fun game of Taboo and by the time everyone left there was already a solid .5-1 inch of yummy snow covering the land!!! Then, to make things better, we woke up this morning to 3-4 inches of snow!!! The girls made some delicious smelling French Toast and then we all went out on snow adventures! Hailey went off on her own grand adventure with no idea who she would run into (but I have a feeling she found some wonderful friends); "Grammy Gnomi" (Naomi), Jess, Hannah, Julia and I went with some of Megz sleds and had an informal snowball fight (against Hannah and Jess's desire) as we trudged through the snow up to Hinderlie Hill to try out the sledding... It was fun, but Julia and I got distracted after one round and ran out onto Foss Field to make snow angels and then begin a snowman! Our first attempt was modeled after the snowman in my ALL TIME FAVORITE Christmas movie (besides Claymation Christmas) entitled "The Snowman". However, we easily became bored with that effort and Julia began the base for a typical round snowman... Which ended up not being so typical. Our snowman ended up being GINORMOUS and in order to get the second layer on we had to have 1 man and 5 girls (plus 2 cheerleaders)... I even got a bloody nose in our effort to lift! Just goes to show that you do not mess with these intense snowman builders ;) The snow is so magical and beautiful and brings people out of the woodwork! I got to see/ play with Sam, and Matt and Kim who I rarely see too which was a surprise and I AM SO HAPPY that we all ran into one another!
Ya, the snow is just so amazing as it coats the dirt in white and makes all so LIGHT and ENCOURAGING! All darkness is gone when the snow falls! I love the words of my mother over Christmas as there was no snow and when we asked her what she preferred she said "I would rather have snow as it brings light to the land and brightens everything up" (Emily Translation)
Truly, our sins are covered by the cross - the blood of the lamb- and we can run and walk and skip and rest in the Truth. God covers us in snow and we are made clean in His image!
I just had this analogy come to me: Tacoma typically does not have snow. So when the weather reports snow everyone is hopeful, but it is easy to doubt that the snow won't fall. Then it does and everyone comes to life- whether it is frustration at roads, joy for snow days, sadness for gardens, etc (you get the picture)- and we realize how precious life is. Our eyes are opened to the beauty of the world around us and the creation we live in. Similarly, with the GOOD NEWS of Jesus, people are often hopeful for his saving grace; but there are still doubts. Then when his grace comes (that is we open and accept it... His love and grace are constantly waiting in the clouds to pour out on you!) our lives are like the land covered in snow! All the darkness is covered as he clothes us in ROBES OF WHITE! We are made pure!!!

In other news, Kirsten in on her way to the house to share with me revelation she received last night while praying for Haiti! The LORD has stirred her heart and I am SO excited to hear her testimony! Kirsten has been a blessing to my life this past year as well! She began the year coming to Megz and my Bible Study and has just been rocked by the power of God! Her words are words of fire and she her heart for Truth and hunger for wisdom and understanding is absolutely beautiful!

Also, Katelyn Chrisman is back in Parkland and I am hoping to see her today!!! Oh goodness she is such a. amazing woman of God and I have been so blessed by her in the past year and a half! The LORD has mighty plans for her! If you want to talk to a woman who has overcome the trials of life and places her trust in the LORD against all logic... She is one to talk to! The LORD has led her through some major sorrows and hardships this past year and she has been blessed with such wisdom and strength through it all! (She also has an amazing gift with music and worship!)

Ya! Well that is it for now!
Walk True! Be Bold! Reach Out!
Live, LOVE, Laugh!!!
