Just Be There and Hold Fast

Wow. Another month has passed by and it is now March 1st! I am currently in Oregon and awoke this morning to the wonderful surprise of snow on the ground. Yes, I just used the words snow and Oregon in the same sentence... that is not something that happens often! It has been wonderful today getting to spend time with Kara- a friend since toddlerhood- and now we are watching her adorable nephew Cale through tomorrow afternoon!

To update everyone on the new status of what is going on in the school process: finances are working out!
No taxes are due, a temporary job has come up, and I am still looking/ praying about a more permanent job (preferably at a coffee shop). Additionally, a degree completion program has come up (http://www.lifepacific.edu/dcp.aspx?id=1773) and the school has scholarships and accepts federal financial aid!
(Yes, our God is a God of provision and He continues to prove it day after day!)

Also, here is the word for today:

Today, the word come from Genesis 8.
Let me set the stage, The flood just came and went and Noah is now back on land with the ark.
In Genesis 8:14 it describes this time as "In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry." That is, the land has been cleared and it looks as a desert- nothing living as far as the eye can see- it makes me think of being in a dry and weary land.
However, we know that life is coming. The land has been prepared for a new season of life and there is new and abundant life on the horizon that will last for ages upon ages, "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease." (Gen. 8:22)
If we relate this to ourselves, we may feel as if we are in a place of dryness. We may feel as if we are empty and dry and that all hope is lost; however, it is in this dry time that we can look forward with MORE hope as we know that new life is coming! We know that the land has been prepared and now we sit and press in, eagerly awaiting for the life to grow.
God's timing is perfect and we may trust in Him. So don't lose hope! Continue to press in! Smile and lift your eyes to heaven with thanksgiving in your heart. For we are already in the land of abundance... just look around! I am positive that every one of you has at least three things right of the bat that you can give thanks for! I am prying for you! Growth is coming! Life and light!

Some verses to encourage:

- Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 11
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted [...] He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future in their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from beginning to end."

- James 1:2-4
"My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing."
- Hebrews 12:1-2
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God."
- Philippians 3:14-16
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. Only let us hold fast to what we have attained."
- Colossians 2:6-7
"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving"
- 1 John 2:8
"However, the command I now write you is new, because its truth is seen in Christ and also in you. For the darkness is passing away, and the real light is already shining"

Be filled with grace and peace and go forth in the light of the Lord's love!
He holds you tight and will not fail you!
He is your comfort and provider!
He loves you with a passion!
